Jeremieh Hasley (he/him) acquired his bachelor's degree in Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences with a specialization in Plant Genetics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Shortly after, he focused on alternative cropping systems such as aeroponic, aquaponic, and hydroponic systems for sustainable agriculture in Hawaii. Later, he obtained a master's degree in Tropical Plant Pathology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he researched basil downy mildew disease resistance, papaya gene-editing, and CRISPR/Cas9 technology. Today, he aims to pour through the plant kingdom family tree, tend his garden (nanoplastic sink), and help others save their dying plants. He hopes that every plant he gets likes house music!

P.S. the thylakoid is the structure within the chloroplast that facilitates the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis.
